My Approach
Life is not meant to be free of pain, we are meant to experience difficulties such as physical or mental illness; stress & anxiety; loss & separation; low mood & depression; grief & bereavement; trauma & conflict etc. However, a lot of the time, the way that we deal with challenges leaves us feeling worse and for longer periods than we need to. In therapy I can guide you through a safe journey of managing your concerns in self-supportive ways and equip you with skills to make a meaningful change to your life.
Work with obstacles
For me, a core part of therapy is to view life as an experience that is meant to face us with obstacles, but I also hold that we need efficient ways to deal with these. Therefore, I am interested in learning more about the stressors and pressures in your life and incorporating scientifically proven strategies to handle these.
Setting goals
In addition to looking at past or present challenges that you may face, I think it is crucial to create an existence characterised by purpose, fulfilment and bliss. As such, I find it highly effective to also set goals based on your needs, beliefs and values so that therapy serves your current self as well as your future self.
